Health Week TY Class 2012

Ms. Johnston’s Home Ec. class kindly agreed to help out with organising Health Week this year.

They prepared leaflets on healthy lunches for first years and spoke to the first years at assembly, using an excellent Power Presentation to higlight the main points.  All week they monitored the 1st years’ lunches and awarded awarded points for the healthiest lunches.  The winning class were invited to a movie afternoon, where we enjoyed watching ‘Mean Girls’ and had some home made yummy snacks. The brilliant posters that the TYs made and displayed all around the school made everyone think twice before ordering a chicken fillet roll or  a 3 in 1.

Well done girls and keep up the healthy eating.

Junior Cert Practicals 2012

This years practical exams were again a fantastic success and students produced many wonderful and tasty dishes.  Not only that, the students demonstrated the excellent planning and cooking skills that they have developed over the last few years. Well done girls on the great work and thank you to all the Home Ec. teachers and parents for helping you to prepare for the exam.
